Holding Space is what Doulas do.
Sometimes it happens seamlessly and beautifully; that connection, trust and presence. Other times it’s edgy and difficult as our own fears are triggered. It doesn’t matter how many births you have attended -what is brought to the space every time is unique.
Doulas Riga Forbes and Nadia Raafat are delighted to invite you to explore more deeply the experience of Holding Space and what it means for the doula and the mothers (and families) she attends in this one day workshop this July.
Using mindful movement, visual art, meditation and mindful enquiry we will spend the day investigating how we can hold space more effectively for ourselves and for others.
Riga Forbes is a doula, birth-preparation facilitator and the author of Mindful Pregnancy & Birth: Nurturing Love and Awareness.
Nadia Raafat is a doula, birth-prep facilitator and yoga and meditation teacher. She has produced Yoga and Mindfulness for Pregnancy & Birth – a 5 class DVD and soon to be online pregnancy programme.
This wonderful day will take place in Riga’s home studio in Uckfield, East Sussex. The nearest stations are Uckfield and Lewes.
Places are limited to just 8 lovely doulas or trainee doulas.
Cost for the day £65 – which will include a delicious home-cooked lunch.
