Some of my best moments have been in circle.

Sitting alongside other women; sometimes leading, sometimes receiving; I am always blown away by the deep soul connection and spiritual nourishment I receive in these spaces.

Being held with presence and love; acceptance and boundary is social holding at its best. It is what we women do best.

Being human is about being held; first in the womb, then in our mothers arms. As mothers we are the first holders; as women we are the space-holders.

Mothers need circles; places to talk; to be; to share; to find support to explore the intense, incredible and also challenging experience of Motherhood.

Whether you are a mother of a new-born attached to your breast; a wilful toddler untidying your home; a rebellious teen testing your patience or a family of children, this is your space to reflect and reconnect with yourself in a supportive community that acknowledges your experience and exists to support you.

This is a space for unpacking the experience of Matrescence; the wild trip of becoming and being a mother alongside a woman. This is not a how to space; but how are you space?

What Happens in a Mothers Circle?

  • Each session will begin with an opening ritual; a meditation; an introduction and discussion around the theme or topic of the week. Sessions will be loosely themed but I will also be happy to be guided by what is present each week in the group.
  • The circle with then open up to the community to share and bring their own experience. Everyone is given a voice; everyone’s experience counts.
  • There will be a meditation or a visualisation around the theme.
  • Each session will close with a ritual of acknowledgement; acceptance and witnessing of each individual there.
  • Everything shared in the circle will be confidential.

We will speak truthfully, we will embrace vulnerability; we will accept others experience and needs even if they are different to our own. We will show up as we are and feel safe to explore our authentic experience as we navigate the path of motherhood and womanhood.

We will remember we are whole and do not need fixing.

We will remember and acknowledge the woman who is there behind the mother, whose voice is perhaps forgotten or subdued.

We will talk about all the issues that mothers navigate from comparison and expectation to creating boundaries and finding your voice;  from postpartum sexuality; to the mother wound; from instinctive mothering to cultural ideas about mothering.

We will hold space for each other  and find self love and self-acceptance in this safe space.

We will learn mindfulness-based coping strategies for the difficult moments in mothering. Over time, we will build our inner resilience. We know that mothers in community thrive.

Every mother will be given a voice; every mother will be included.

You will hold each other. I will hold you.

Weekly Sessions Starts Tuesday 6 May 12.30-2pm BST

Show up in your PJS, with or without babe in arms; show up whether you are feeling tired and broken or strong and capable. The circle is open to all mothers (at any stage of mothering). No mindfulness experience is required.

Mothers Circle

Cost:

Being part of the circle requires a commitment to show up and hold the container for yourself and others for a minimum of 6 weeks. After that you can choose to rebook and keep your place in teh circle or bow out and open your place to another. Once within the circle, you can stay for as long as not is serving and supporting you.
